We value our patients at Haywood Eye and Vision Care and, as always, your safety and trust are top priorities for us. We want you to know that we are taking extra precautions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanitization has always been an essential component of our daily practice, but, in response to this virus, we are implementing even more rigorous cleaning and sanitization procedures. We are also implementing screening procedures in an effort to keep the virus out of our office.
A large number of our patients are at an increased risk of complications from COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we are following the American Academy of Ophthalmology's guidelines and recommending that anyone over the age of 70 and anyone with chronic health conditions to reschedule their appointments if the visit is routine in nature. Any chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or any other vision threatening condition should still come for their appointment if they feel safe to do so. Please understand, this is only a recommendation and, as always, we will be happy to see you should you prefer to come in.
For the safety of everyone in our office and especially for our patients who are at a higher risk of complications, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if, during the last two weeks, you or anyone you have been in contact with have had a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or have visited China, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Europe, Washington, New York, or California. We will work with you to get you back on our schedule as quickly as possible should you have to cancel an appointment due to this illness.
We value all of our patients and will do everything we can to help ensure your safety. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
